Indus runs as a life line through the length of Pakistan. The glaciers of the Himalayas and Karakorum provide a regular water flow all round the year. Many civilizations survived and many empires have built their fortunes along it shores.

In this programme we will
explore the historical and 
present day civilizations. Starting from 
Peshawar, tracing it through the plains 
of Punjab, following it into the deserts of Sind. We will travel in coaches, jeeps, camels and float on flat bottom boats. The hotel stays are supplemented by wilderness camping, in desert and during the boat trip.
